    HOD Message

    Dr. S. Sankar Ganesh

    Dr. S. Sankar Ganesh graduated with a B.E. from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, in 1998, and completed his M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering with 6th rank from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, in 2002. He received his Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai, in 2013. With over 25 years of teaching experience, he has published 22 papers in Scopus and SCI-indexed journals. His areas of expertise include pattern recognition and machine learning. He has authored two textbooks titled Object-Oriented Programming (2008) and Design and Analysis of Algorithms (2022). He is a member of ISTE and IEEE societies and has actively participated in more than 12 international and national conferences. He has also organized various national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars.

    Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at R.M.K. College of Engineering and Technology.

     

    Since its inception in 2008 with an intake of 60 students, our department has grown steadily over the years. Today, we offer admissions to 240 students annually, reflecting both the rising interest in the field and the department’s commitment to quality education.

     

    Our focus is on building a strong academic foundation while encouraging practical learning through projects, labs, and real-world problem solving. We aim to prepare students not just for their first job, but for long-term careers in a fast-changing technology landscape.

     

    The department is supported by experienced faculty, dedicated to teaching and continuous learning. We also encourage our students to explore areas such as Full Stack Technology, Cloud Computing, Software Development, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security based on their interests and strengths.

     

    We maintain a balanced approach—valuing discipline, innovation, and responsibility equally. Our goal is to ensure that every student leaves the department with confidence, competence, and clarity about their future.
